How I Met The Cast of How I Met Your Mother
I was on set all day today at my favorite TV show, How I Met Your Mother. I filmed a featured extra appearance which just means my face gets prominent showing behind Alyson Hannigan in a scene.
How did I get to do this? The story goes like this: drunk husband and I attend charity party last Halloween thrown by the show’s creator, Carter Bays. There’s a silent auction for a featured extra appearance on the show and drunk husband decides this would make me so happy. Drunk husband is adorable and generous with his money. Drunk husband thens wins silent auction.
Soon after the charity auction, there was a writer’s strike which cancelled the rest of the show’s season. This season, it just took me that long to get my schedule to match up with theirs. Nevertheless, I made it on set and had a blast.
This was taken from behind the monitors where you can see all the camera shots. If you notice on the left, that’s a sign from Maclaren’s Bar. All the sets are right next to each other in a row. And I am pretty sure that is Jason Segal in the plaid in the monitor above. He is playing the piano in the apartment set between shots. Musical genius, that one.
Also, I am not quite sure there is a nicer cast and crew on a TV set in Los Angeles. I dare you to find me one. Everyone was extremely nice and happy. I envy all of them. Not that my job isn’t nice and cozy but it does lack a bit of warmth when everything is done by email and IM. And there’s no Neil Patrick Harris around to make your heart jump a little. Although I do have MrTheSpy.
